Chris Cargo lands on JourneyDeep Records for their 100th release.
Irish long serving DJ and producer Chris Cargo, is a veteran of the underground scene, he started his production career in the late 90s, and has been at the forefront within the electronic music scene ever since. His music has graced Renaissance, Automatic Records, Whoop, Armada Music, Configurations Of Self and onedotsixtwo, amongst many more.
He delivers two originals here, booth oozing of confidence and quality, as you’d expect. Starting with Dawntreader, a hypnotic and deep workout, with subtle warmth looming, over its trippy soundsacpe, full of drive and dramatic flavours.
Next up its ‘Distant Mellow, and as the title suggests, an understated sophistication locks you in to its spell, as the blippy melodic patterns merge and melt wonderfully, with a chunky and hazy wash of goodness.
Returning to JourneyDeep, Burned Fruitcake take on the title track. this talented producer has seen his music land on Visceral, in2U and Satoro. He brings additional spices to the mix, with a big side-chained bass and twittery melodic-ness for added emotional beauty.
With his music gracing Dissident, Mirabilis and Krafted, J Lauda takes on ‘Distant Mellow’. He was the ideal candidate to re-tweak, and what a beauty he delivered. A serious slab of moody melodic peak time phatness, with dirty edges, when your set needs some power.
